Taste of India in Anchorage

***HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!*** My husband and I came here on a whim, having never eaten at an Indian restaurant before. It's a quaint restaurant with a warm and welcoming feel upon entering. There are touches of India throughout the restaurant, from the art to the music videos playing on the television. We told our waiter that it was our first time and he went to go get the manager, Jaed. The manager came out and was SO friendly and kind. He described all of the most popular dishes, drinks, and desserts, and what they were made of. He also gave us his recommendations, as we wanted to try an appetizer, main course, dessert, and their drinks (all non-alcoholic). When they delivered each course, a description and how to eat it was given, as well as a check-in to see how we liked it. Every single item we ordered was phenomenal!! The spices and the spice were there, the joy, the happy dance... everything!! We left very full and very happy with leftovers to spare. Even after ordering everything we ordered, we paid less than $80. It was an amazing experience with amazing food. Needless to say, this is now one of our favorite restaurants, and we will definitely be coming back. *BONUS* They cater and deliver! Thank you SO MUCH for the amazing food and amazing service!!

I placed an order online for Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan and rice. When I arrived the order was ready to go and the person working the front was very friendly and courteous. The food was absolutely amazing! The Chicken Masala was fantastic as was the Garlic Naan. I will definitely be back and appreciate how easy it was to order food to go. Thank you!

A warm and welcoming atmosphere with solid service. I was quick to be seated and not rushed at all to place my order for dine in. Food was wonderfully delicious, quick to table, and with good presentation. Walls could use a good cleaning and maybe a coat of paint, but it’s not that bad at all. I’d eat here again tomorrow if nothing but for the best garlic naan I’ve ever had in anchorage. 10/10 recommend.

Love, Love, Love Taste of India! I was very pleased with the atmosphere, food and customer service. We ordered — Tandoori Mixed Grill, Chicken Bhuna and Chicken Tikka Masala. The food was very flavorful and filling. I highly recommend the Chicken Bhuna (medium spice) the spices helped clear my sinuses and was so soooo good! The Tikka Masala (medium) was also good, but I felt like it was more mild than medium heat but still very good. Looks like i’ll have to order a spice level up! I really loved that they are generous with their portions. We’ve been to a couple other Indian style restaurants and they always give us more curry than actual meat. Overall, the experience was pleasant, customer service was nice and I think the Tandoori Shrimp is on my dishes to try next time I’m here :)

We discovered a culinary gem in Anchorage today! My husband and I visited Taste of India for the first time, and the experience was truly exceptional. The food was outstanding, with tender and flavorful lamb and goat meat in the Tika masala dishes. We were impressed that they accommodated my request for goat Tika masala, even though it's not on the menu. The onion Naan was delicious, and the basmati rice was perfectly cooked - fluffy and moist. What stood out was the quality of the meat; my husband noted that it was cartilage-free, a rarity in his experience with many restaurants. The owner and waiters were polite, knowledgeable, and happy to help. We're thrilled to have found this hidden gem and can't wait to return. Taste of India 🇮🇳 has earned two new customers. Me and my fiancé went to this restaurant tonight and the food was incredible! The best Indian food in Anchorage hands down! We had the chicken samosa, keema naan, butter chicken, and the chicken bunha, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! We also love the tv that displays various Bollywood music videos. The service and the servers are great as well. Overall a fantastic experience, we will definitely be coming back again.

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to not just Anchorage. They run an extremely tight ship and you can tell it’s a small operation but done well with a lot of care. Came here without reservations before the dinner rush and was able to be seated without waiting. One of the perks of dining in is the taste of india special which allows you to get a sampler platter to try many dishes at the same time. Being able to order one main meat dish and 2 vegetarian dishes with rice, a crispy chip, and a sweet dessert soup all in one plate for under $25 is the best value for restaurants in Alaska I’ve ever seen. Every dish we tried was fantastic and wouldn’t hesitate to come back anytime. They also use clover’s POS allowing you to pay online using just a QR code which accepts apple pay for an absolute seamless payment experience. Love it!
