The food was incredible, each dish was packed with flavor. The chicken Tandoori was super tender, the biryani was full of spices, and the curries were just the right amount of creamy. Plus, the naan was soft and fresh. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the service. The staff was so friendly and made sure everything was perfect without hovering. It felt like they genuinely cared about making sure I had a good time. If you're looking for some great Indian food and great service, I definitely recommend giving Maharj Indian Grill a try!
Really nice Indian restaurant in downtown Chicago. Food was delicious and service was exceptional. Our servers Chhavi and Agnelo were very friendly and attentive. They kept coming to our table to ensure the food was to our liking and if we needed anything additional. Highly recommend if you are in mood for delicious Indian food.
Wow, amazing experience! Visiting Chicago for a conference and picked this spot randomly as it was close to the hotel. We were completely blown away by our experience! The restaurant is super clean and the ambience is great. We shared the grill special for two, which came with lots of different things to try. All of it was absolutely delicious. We especially loved the butter chicken. The portion size was huge and the both of us will be able to enjoy the leftovers for lunch tomorrow as well. Above all, the service was phenomenal. Maidi was our server and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Even if the food hadn’t been so delicious, I think we would have gone back anyway for her wonderful service. She was the best. Looking forward to our next visit!
If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Maharaj Indian Grill is the place to be. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a warm atmosphere filled with the sound of laughter and chatter, even though it was packed. The energy of the place sets the stage for what’s to come, and it doesn’t disappoint. We ordered a variety of dishes, starting with the crispy, golden samosas that were stuffed with a flavorful blend of spiced potatoes. They were perfectly fried, and each bite was a satisfying crunch followed by a burst of savory warmth. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, with tender chicken pieces smothered in a velvety tomato-based sauce that had the right balance of sweetness and spice. But the standout dish for me was the Chicken Vindaloo. I wasn’t expecting much at first, but the cubes of marinated chicken, cooked alongside seasoned potatoes in a spicy tomato and onion sauce, completely took me by surprise. The depth of flavor in the Vindaloo was mind-blowing, something familiar yet with an added kick of spiciness that warmed your whole body with every bite. The chicken was incredibly tender and the potatoes were cooked to perfection, absorbing all the spices and flavors, making every forkful a little adventure. The heat of the Vindaloo was just right, not overwhelming, but enough to make your taste buds tingle and leave you craving more. And to complement all of this, we had Tandoori Roti that was soft, slightly charred, and perfect for scooping up every last bit of sauce. Each dish was carefully prepared and packed with flavor, leaving us feeling full but completely satisfied. Maharaj Indian Grill isn’t just about the food, it’s about the experience. Every moment, from the laughter in the air to the last bite, was pure bliss.
Amazing, amazing, and amazing! This restaurant has been on my list for years and I immediately regretted for taking so long to try Maharaj Indian Grill after a first bite of tandoori chicken. Noha was so nice and being flexible to my request. Krunal was checking on my table constantly to see if we needed anything else. I highly recommend their chef special because that is absolutely beautiful deal in this economy. It's $48 for two but the portion could easily feed 4 people. I would love to come back to try more menu. Thank you for amazing food!!
It was my first time at Maharaj Indian grill. Very good experience overall. It is chicago so space is at premium and one of us was a bit tight at the table they had offered to move us if this was uncomfortable, something to consider if you have a group of big folks. Dishes had been well prepared and for me tasted really good. Will recommend and likely to visit this place again.
Sonia and Ivan were great! The food was fantastic! We are from Nashville and the kebabs were always disappointing. After a decade, I finally got the taste of Delhi Seekh Kebabs, which transported me home! Keema Matar samosas were on point!
