The food was so great. I took my Mom (along with Dad) to the Flame as a "thank you" after she watched our kids during a trip. She developed a love of Indian cuisine when parents lived there for a few years for Dad's work. She is a bit of a food critic. This is a particular favorite of hers. It is hard to pick a favorite: we four ordered four entrées and shared. Chicken Biriani, Butter Chicken, Dal Makini, and Kabobs were all delicious. The Naan was fresh and had the perfec consistency. They all tasted gerat (especially the Chicken Tika Naan) and complemented the more bold flavors of the entrées. Service by Siddhesh made the entire evening perfect celebration. It felt like the best parts of dining in India.
Located exactly off of Interstate 75 exit 350 on hwy 200 in Ocala. Don’t let the location right by a gas station deter you. The food is excellent and the service is great. There is sit in as well as take out option. There is also a bar at the restaurant. The food is flavorful. Ask for medium or low spicy and very spicy is actually very spicy even for a native. The price is not the cheapest but reasonable.
Great food, Great service!!! We drove from The Villages to Ocala for Indian food. Found The Flame Indian Kitchen right off the 75/turnpike. Their garlic naan is the best ever!! All the curries are great. They have great tandoori meats also. Look for Siddhesh. He’ll take good care of you.
Just happened on this dynamic restaurant as we are visiting the area from WI. Fabulous! Would recommend anytime. We had the Tandori Mixed grill…chucked, minced meats w/spices, lamb & cheeses Now to waddle back to the hotel!
Siddhesh IS PHENOMENAL!!! He has a great attitude and personality. It always feels like home. The food is absolutely amazing. Check it out!!!!
OK, so it’s a challenge to rate atmosphere over 3 stars when the restaurant is literally attached to a gas station, but while it is simple in decorations they did as well as can be done and you forget the gas station. The food was delicious and creative. The service was attentive by I’d recommend that the waiter be a bit friendly and “off good cheer”as they say. Almost forgot- best garlic Naan I ever had!
This is not a review of the food but to thank a very kind man, the owner of The Flame. I had made a reservation at the hotel next door but when we arrived with a large U-Haul towing a car hauler I could see we were in trouble. The parking lot was very small. I pulled into The Flame parking lot. The hotel said I could park in the Lowes lot about a block away. I was getting ready to do that when I noticed a big space next to The Flame's food truck. I went inside and asked if it would be ok to park there and I would pay. The owner said it would be fine. He helped me park by guiding me into the space. And he would not take anything for payment. Please Ocala reward this man for his kindness to a stranger!
