No wonder why chef VIKAS KHANNA named this place as his one of the favourite dining spots in Newyork. "I had an amazing experience at the Angel Indian restaurant! The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was good decent. I was especially pleased to find plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians.we had veg dum biryani so delicious must try, lassuni gobi, pani puri I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great authentic biryani
Outstanding Indian food in a casual and cozy location. The food here is probably the best Indian food I've had anywhere let alone in New York City! We had the Butter Chicken and Lamb Bhuna with garlic naan. Both dishes were authentic tasting and superbly prepared. Neither dish was overpowering in spices or heat. You could tell fresh spices, seasonings and ingredients were used. Servings were ample too. The Butter Chicken had plenty of tender chicken with a perfectly prepared and delicious sauce. This was the best version of this dish I've ever had. The lamb buhna was very intensely flavored and highlighted garlic, ginger and chilis flavors with pretty intense heat too but it wasn't overboard!! The lamb was tender and flavorful! The garlic naan was excellent! Service was efficient and friendly! The atmosphere is cozy and only seats about 20 people. Highly recommended for authentic Indian food with good service and cozy atmosphere!
We did not make a reservation and had to wait 1.5 hour because we missed the first call-back. That being said, we were extremely satisfied with everything we ordered! Would definitely come all the way to Queens again just to eat here!
Angel Indian Restaurant is a true staple in Queens, and after discovering it through social media, I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype—and it absolutely did! This quaint, no-frills spot is perfect for enjoying some incredibly delicious Indian cuisine. The standout dishes for me were the chicken saag, minced lamb, and tandoori chicken. The portions are massive—seriously, even an appetizer could easily serve as a full entrée. It's more of a quick dining experience, so be prepared for fast service and a bustling atmosphere since there aren’t many tables and there’s often a wait. The music can be a bit loud, so if you're looking for a more relaxed setting for conversation or if you're sensitive to noise, keep that in mind. Overall, I love this place and will definitely be coming back for more!
Small restaurant that was very full when we came, but luckily managed to snag a table as people were leaving. The food here is great, full of spices you’d expect from South Asian dishes. The garlic naan was my favorite, they load it up with garlic and ghee and it’s amazing when you pair it with the main courses. We had the aloo gobi and vegetable biryani and couldn’t finish everything, the portions are quite big.
Nothing but an awesome time here, the staff greets you with a smile and is super attentive, Decor js exactly what you would want the best Indian food in the ( Burroughs to taste like, bland cuteness! The food is out of the world, the flavors wow, it puts most other Indian restaurants especially in the city to shame! Shame on them for hiding the true flavors and praise be upon angel for unlocking the gates to flavor heaven!!! 6 stars
Hidden Hole in the Wall in the Heart Of Jackson Heights . Once upon a time Jackson Heights was called Little India not it’s more of Gold Souk. Been trying to check this spot for a while now , went few times and couldn’t do the hour waits . Finally made a reservation and made the trip from Long Island. We were greeting and seated at our reservation time. Restaurant is small with about 8 tables. It was very diverse in there , I guess people traveled to eat there. We were recommended a few dishes by our waiter but we picked what we wanted . For appetizers we went with Tandoori Chicken , Lamb Sheekh and Lamb Chops . Everything came out fast and sizzling. Portions were great and we barely had room for Main Course . But for main course we decided on traditional Butter Chicken , Chicken Dum Biryani paired with Keema Kulcha and Garlic Naan. Everything was great , it was on the spicier side but I am glad I had it as it was. Also loved the fact that they didn’t tone down the spice level as Indian food is usually spicy. Overall , I wonder why it’s rated 4.7 out of 5 and trust me it’s better than most of these fine dining Indian restaurants in the city.
