Love the naan selection! All the food that we tried was amazing. Every dish was spiced and flavorful. Great balance of seasoning. Tender lamb and chicken. Everything cooked to perfection. If you like some heat, ask for their homemade hot sauce to try. Highly recommend!
Himalayan Restaurant is one of the best dining spots in Sonoma County, known for its authentic flavors and warm hospitality. It offers a rich variety of dishes inspired by the cuisines of Nepal, India, and Tibet, bringing the taste of the Himalayas to California. The restaurant is famous for its fresh ingredients, delicious curries, momos (dumplings), and flavorful vegetarian and vegan options. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make every guest feel welcome. Furthermore, Himalayan Restaurant delivers an unforgettable experience that keeps people coming back. Highly recommended!
I was visiting Windsor and was looking up restaurants to eat and saw that this was very highly rated! I’m not too familiar with Himalayan and Nepalese food so I was excited to try it out! It was pretty busy for a weeknight dinner but we didn’t have to wait for a party of 2. We sat inside and parking was easy as there is plenty of street parking. After we ordered we were even given a warm towel to wipe our hands on. We ordered mango lassi’s, vegetable samosas, chicken korma curry with white rice and garlic naan, and we wanted to try something different that we don’t usually see so we got the fried noodles of the Himalayas with shrimp. The mango lassi was amazing, the vegetable samosas came with tons of sauces. We read that they give our complimentary lentil soups but I think that’s only for lunch so we didn’t bother asking. We opted for the chicken korma curry because it was highly rated and it met its expectations! We got ours a little spicy too and it was filled with so much flavor and texture, you can def tell the different spices and ingredients compared to a regular masala or curry. It paired so well with the garlic naan. They serve momos there which are dumplings from Nepal but we opted for the stir fried noodles of the Himalayas with shrimp. When trying to explain how it tasted which was really good, it reminded me of a Mongolian bbq with special types of mixing! I would highly recommend. We were way too full for dessert but they had tea bags on the table too. The service was great and very friendly and we really enjoyed our meal here, I’d definitely come back!
I read through the 1 star comments because I was shocked to see that anyone would give this restaurant a 1 star review. As a fellow food service worker it saddens me to see so many people talk negatively about slow service. Making food takes time, especially when it is high quality food and it is busy. Do not go out to eat if you are expecting to get food in 10 minutes, if that’s what you want go to McDonald’s or something. You are paying for high quality food and a very nice, generous, and attentive staff. Everytime I eat here I tip 30% because everything here is just that good. If you are reading these reviews to decide if you want to eat here please ignore the negative comments, they are sad individuals, while some may have had negative experiences, restaurants are not perfect, you cannot make everybody happy, but they do the best they can and are very good at their jobs and service. Food is amazing by the way!!! Everything here I’ve had is amazing. My favorite is the spicy chicken tikka masala and the special pumpkin curry. Both are very savory, flavorful and enjoyable. 100% my favorite restaurant, couldn’t be better in my opinion.
We come here as a family often! That means this place is good, and welcoming. The food is always delicious, and their mango lassis are incredible! Give this restaurant a try! 10/10
I was new to this restaurant, but was invited in for a business lunch. Everyone working service today was kind and friendly. I ordered a Chicken Korma lunch special - and it was SO delicious and comforting! I will be back again soon to try more things!
Loved the food and the service. We went for the Himalayan vegerarian noodles, chana masala lunch, tofu tikka masala lunch and vegan curry lunch plate. The food was cooked in good quality olive oil. The lunch comes with roti or naan option, I suggest you opt for the wheat roti, it was really soft. The lentil soup was underwhelming, it is not the traditional daal soup which many of us are used to, it tastes different, 3/5 for the soup. Chana masala, tofu tikka masala and vegan curry are all 5/5. Lastly the Himalayan noodles are good, use the vinegar, 4/5.
