My first time visiting and the food was amazing. It was also my first time trying the Mango Lassi drink and let me tell you, I dream about this drink! So good! And the guy that takes the orders and does register, he is a pretty awesome dude!
This is great Indian food in Birmingham! our favorite dish was the Methi Malai, so creamy and spice (medium) was perfect. Definitely recommend. Karthik was also an excellent and friendly server! Will be back.
when I come to this part of Birmingham for work, I stay at the UAB Marriott Downtown Birmingham. One, it is convenient to where I need to go to work. Two, Sitar is right out front! The last three times i’ve been here I have eaten at Sitar. The Tikka Masala, Chicken Korma, Spring Rolls, Meat and Veggie Somosas are ALWAYS delicious, hot and fresh. 10/10 every time. The wait is never long for quality food. The flavors are there and the spice kicks, if you aren’t a spice person do less than medium. I look forward to trying more dishes each time I come to downtown Birmingham. For the price you pay I say it is totally worth it. Dine in or take out, portions are generous. One Tikka or Korma could feed two people with an appetizer or two for $30 (that’s with tip, don’t forget to tip!). 05Feb2025: uploading more pictures from this recent trip. I got the tandoori appetizer and goat biryani. The tandoori is amazing with a mixture of different meats.
Fantastic meal, some of the best Indian I’ve ever had, and very top notch and attentive service, Kamal is a fantastic personality and I will be a regular here because of him, the food, and the filling portions. 11/10
Tried this place and it was very good. My first time trying this type of cuisine and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend the garlic Naan and the butter chicken. Nice staff and at the heart of downtown.
I’ve ordered their food to pick up before and it was really good but I do recommend dining in the food taste even better. Honestly, some of the best food I’ve ever had. Very flavorful and when you ask for it to be really hot, it’s actually really hot. Try the Chicken 65 and get it hot, taste amazing
This was the best Indian restaurant after 10 hour drive and we got this vegetarian yummy food . The service was great, and we all loved it. Specially the cook name is paras he made this food We ordered 1 butter Naan and 1 garlic Naan,1 tandoori roti ,1 roti the quality and quantity sufficient for 4 people .We also got melai methi panner , and packed food for dinner too .same breads and Paneer Jalfrezi The atmosphere was great, and I think everyone would love the dedication to indian culture. This is easy to love because the food is so good. I recommend that you stop your car eat here for a long trip or eat here for lunch
