Star of India on Vine is a hidden gem that delivers the full experience—from bold, authentic flavors to an atmosphere that feels both warm and vibrant. The food is incredible—every dish we tried was rich with spices that tasted genuinely homemade, not watered down or Americanized. You can tell they take pride in doing it right. From the naan to the butter chicken , every bite was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The staff was welcoming, and the vibe was just right—laid-back, cozy, and perfect for both a casual night out or something a bit more special. If you’re craving real Indian food that tastes like it came straight from someone’s home kitchen, this is the place. Highly recommend it! Sam and Rushali were amazing waiters and were very attentive and inviting .

Wonderful Indian food in a little strip mall in Hollywood!!! We had The lunch specials which were very reasonably priced and generous servings of delicious food. The lamb in all of the dishes was perfectly cooked. They have lots of vegetarian options And some of the best rice pudding I’ve ever had for dessert! Highly recommend!! Hello to Robin. I have found my Indian spot in LOS ANGELES! I have been searching high and low for places that are just as good as back in NYC and London. I kept striking out in LA. We'll after searching for years we have found it! We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Mango Coconut Chicken and the Saag Panner with Garlic Naan. Not shown are the chicken samosas and they are drool worthy! Can't wait to come again as I know this place will be on repeat! Oh and Robin is so great. Ask for him if you stop by.

Who is 10 out of 10! They have a little warmers that they place under your food to keep it warm. That’s a new addition! Also try this soda called “thumbs up” it’s amazing. It’s like Coca-Cola, but without all the bad stuff and it’s very aromatic! Sam was a great host!!

We ordered Mango Coconut Chicken, Lamb Saag, and Jeera Rice. The Lamb Saag was one of our favorite dishes. It's rich and flavorful, with tender lamb that melts in our mouths. The Mango Coconut Chicken had a good balance of sweetness and spice. The Jeera Rice added a pleasant scent and went well with the other dishes. Robin is a great guy. He and another server(we forgot to ask his name) provided us with excellent service. They both were attentive and friendly, making sure we enjoyed our meal.

We dropped in spontaneously to Star of India and had such a great experience! Robin took wonderful care of us from the moment we walked in. Since it was our first visit, we stuck to some classic dishes—and we absolutely loved everything, including the Indian Salad.We both agreed it was a truly wonderful meal. It’s the kind of restaurant where, after eating there once, you want to try everything on the menu. We can’t wait to come back!
