We really enjoy Indian food 🥘 and India Oven has been our quick go-to every time we’re in San Antonio. The food might not be the most authentic but it’s great nevertheless. We really enjoy their garlic and cheesy naans and there’s nothing a warm Indian soup won’t cure. The service is always quick, friendly and effective!
This was delicious. Just FYI, "hot" means hot. I enjoyed it, but for those who are sensitive to heat, you might wanna go with something less than "hot." The plates (including the kids plates) were also great portions. They both ended up taking their leftovers to go. The garlic naan was amazing 🤤 We didn't eat outside, but there is a decent sized outdoor patio with seating.
The only way to describe it is fast food Indian. It doesn’t taste what you would expect of fast food. It was delicious and authentic. I appreciated the small touches like the metal dishes. Portion sizes were larger than expected. I felt I got a lot of food at an affordable price. This is a place I will regularly come back. The garlic Naan was melt in your mouth good. I liked that I could pick which protein I wanted to accompany the flavor profile.
We enjoyed the food from here. The samosas were tasty, chicken vindaloo with basmati had the traditional flavor but could have had more chicken than potatoes, the saag was very good especially with some garlic naan. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the Madras soup. I'm used to a smoother texture, more coconutty flavor. This one clearly had spices that tasted more like a sauce than soup. But my girlfriend liked it very much. I joined their reward program because we will continue to order from here.
Fast food as in fresh and hot !! The aroma can be smelled all the way outside.
Hubby got takeout for lunch from here last week. He ordered Vegetable Samosas, Naan, Daal Curry with vegetables and mild seasoning, and Shrimp Biryani. The food was excellent and well seasoned. Will definitely return again and would certainly recommend.
Tarka offers great selection of Indian food (I’m not sure if it’s authentic or not, but tastes great to me). Highly recommend the coconut curry for a more mild taste and creamy texture. All their dips and sauces are different and flavorful.
