For a new indian restaurant, I think they’re doing great. It’s beautiful inside and the service is great. The food is very good too, one critique would be to have more flavor to it (specifically to our entrees). I feel they need more of a kick. Now, for the spice level, they’re good. I just believe they can do it a bit more with salt, and I suppose any other savory additives. The herbal flavor’s great though, so don’t change that. This shouldn’t be mistaken as bland, however! It also isn’t a big issue because their dish proportions are big, and they don’t hold back on the meat. Also, their sauces aren’t bad too. As said, it just needs a bit more flavor. I would definitely come back! Also, we ordered the goan shrimp, lamb boti with keem, momo, mango chutney and garlic naan
Happy to discover a great Indian food restaurant. The menu is full of our favorite dishes, plus some creative twists and flavors. We enjoyed momos, the mango chicken and navratan korma, medium spice. All very tasty. Lots of vegan options. I just wish more people were there, it was a bit too quiet. We'll be back!
I have eaten here at the buffet twice and tonight the first time I got delivery. This restaurant is amazing with portions they aren’t stingy with thier meat in the biryani’s. I got the lamb biryani and a mango lassi. The mango lassi is rich and not cheap it watered down like others in the area. It’s authentic and good.
We have passed by the restaurant many times as we take Paper Mill Rd to get to our home and when leaving. I thought " just another Indian restaurant", Pierces is elevated but similar offerings and a LOT more expensive. I have to tell you Indian Ocean was a pleasant surprise. Was not crowded, I wondered why. Clean, well designed, comfortable seating, they spent 9 months renovating. it's a BYOB as no liquor license yet. Starter was veggie Samosa, very flaky crust, not too spicy, but spicy and very flavorful. Avocado salad was very generous portion to share and had bright fresh and perfect avocado, house dressing was perfect. We shared Tandoori chicken, it came out on a sizzling tray, was tender and was maybe the best version of this we've had. Price is moderate, easy parking and we will definitely eat there again. Service was excellent, and food came out very timely. Almost forgot, the garlic Naan was really good, I'd say the food is on par or better than the fancy Pierces also in out area.
Fantastic Grand Opening Experience at Indian Ocean Restaurant! I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of Indian Ocean Restaurant, and it was an incredible experience! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for an enjoyable evening. Having previously dined at other restaurants by this team, I was delighted to find that they've maintained the same authenticity in taste, which is commendable. While the flavors are wonderfully authentic, I appreciate the slight Americanized twist, making it suitable for a wider range of palates. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive vibe of the place. I'm already looking forward to returning for their buffet – it's definitely on my list of must-visit spots in town!
On a recent Friday, 03/14, I tried their lunch buffet. It was excellent!! Two of the choices were seafood. My server Saksham was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant itself is well lit with an airy, open feel. Looking forward to coming back in the near future!
Indian Ocean sets the standard for the best strip mall ambience for a restaurant ! The chicken tikka was exceptionally spiced and moist as was the flavorful Aloo matar. The appetizers and naan were all fresh tasting. This made for a memorable midweek experience . Will be adding to our go to dining places!
