my annual visits to new york always include one trip to tadka indian. connected to a banquet hall, tadka is divided by a wall to five star banquet which often hosts festivities such as weddings. the restaurant portion maintained the fancy feel of the banquet hall, with white tablecloth and nicely dressed waiters. the food is celebration worthy. my family is loyal to our respective orders: butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and palek paneer. rice and naan go very well with all of it. i wish id taken a picture of the food, but my hunger beat me to it. so instead, here is a photo of the atmosphere that i only came around to taking after our complimentary rice pudding. all together, dinner was delightful and i can’t wait to visit new york again, knowing tadka will be on the itinerary.
Food was amazing especially the Chicken tandoori and the shrimp biryani. Taste resembled with real Indian food. Spices were at absolutely amazing. Finished the meal with tea and it was amazing. Only suggestion would be more smiles on servers could improve the overall experience.

Went in to this restaurant late at night for a quick bite - only one other group there but it was excellent. The garlic naan was the best I have ever had and the manager was very hospitable.
We had an amazing time! The food and service were fantastic, and our server Laddi was super helpful! Thanks for such a wonderful experience!
Excellent service on the phone and in person. I ordered the fish biriyani and the fish was super tender as well as the rice. The seasonings were perfect and not overly spiced, the plate was affordable and filling, and it came out fast. The restaurant is like a banquet style setup so good for casual dinners or celebrations, it is a little bit of a smaller space though. Highly recommend this spot!
I used to work a block from here in 2001 and I often got take out on the way home. The chicken tikka masala was simply the best tasting food I have ever had. I have ordered this dish all over the world, including India, and none have ever matched up. It was so good every other time I have had CTM has been at least a slight disappointment. Its like a drug user chasing that first high. I haven't been back for many years so I don't know if it's just as good, but now that I live in the are again I plan to make the pilgrimage soon!
