A Flavorful Experience at Banana Leaf! Banana Leaf Indian Restaurant completely blew us away! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home with their warm hospitality and friendly service. The atmosphere was inviting, clean, and perfect for a relaxed meal. We tried the Gobi65, Veg Biryani, Mirchi Bajji – everything was packed with rich, authentic flavors. Biryani had just the right balance of spice and aroma. Don’t skip the mango lassi – it’s a perfect refresher! You can really taste the love and care in every dish. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or new to it, Banana Leaf is an absolute must-visit. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!
I thought I went into Beach Cities Social Kitchen & Bar. Very confusing signage. I'm still unsure of where Beach Cities is. The server said it was the same restaurant, it is not. Different menu. Both items I ordered were fantastic, though. I got the Stuffed Eggplant (flavorful and lighter) and a spicy shrimp dish (very spicy and edible).
My kiddos and I went to Banana Leaf for the first time during our trip to Redondo Beach. When we walked in it was quiet (5:30pm) We sat at a table and we were greeted by a nice person (the bartender) Sorry, I didn't get your name. We ordered the butter chicken, spicy chicken biryani and the stuffed eggplant. The chicken was juicy and tender. The level of spicy was on point. We sweat, but loved everything. We also tried the garlic naan. It was fluffy and fresh. I recommend this restaurant if you are craving something spicy and delicious. They also have a good selection of ales. ***Update**" I can't wait for a second visit!
Banana leaf is a restaurant serving authentic Indian cuisine! They have an abundant variety of dishes and for the ones I’ve tried, they greatly satisfied me! I come from Singapore and have greatly missed the hawker (food court like) dishes, noticing the roti paratha, curry, and dosai I knew I had to come try their dishes. I was eager to try their dosa but unfortunately it was sold out. In spite of that, I was able to try Andhra Chicken Curry (The server’s recommendation and at spicy spice level) ), roti, paratha, and garlic naan, of which I greatly enjoyed. Their Andhra Chicken Curry exhumed herby and soothing spice aromatics and was buttery, comfortably spicy, with a thick and flavorful gravy, dipping their crispy and starchy roti into the curry made a perfect combo. Banana leaf’s paratha also reminded me of Indian flavors being fluffy, having a stretchy tear with some aromatics. The garlic naan had its own flavors that hid in the curry but by itself was fresh, slightly savory, bubbly, and delicious. The server also consistently checked up on me, which is appreciated! I have definitely missed out on Banana leaf and will one-hundred-percent come back to try another dish (Hopefully the dosai!).
This was our first time dining at Banana Leaf and the service was phenomenal. We were greeted by Madhavi who was so kind and talked us through all of the Andhra specialties. Our son had a Dosa and he loved it. We ordered the Andhra Non veg special to go and it is honestly the best thing I had ate in the South Bay. I almost cried from happiness when tasting the tomato pappu.
