Cosmos Indian Store & Cafe

This place has some of the best Indian food I’ve had outside India. HUGE variety of options. The staff is always nice (and patient with my indecision), the chai is perfect and piping hot, and the portions are perfect. It’s a very casual place, which is my preference but may not suit everyone’s tastes if they’re looking for something “fancy”. The store is just next door and has greatly expanded since my first visit in 2019ish. If I lived closer I’d be here regularly.

I’ve traveled extensively across the United States and I can say that this is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to and it’s nestled inside a grocery store. Trust me, I’m Indian. I know authenticity when I taste it. It was so good that I ordered it four days in a row! Would definitely go back if I find myself in the area.

This place is a hole in the wall but wow was the food good. Split the Chicken Korma, Tandoori Chicken, rice and garlic naan with a friend. Had a mango lassi that brought an instant smile and flood of traveling memories.

Food was absolutely delicious and had wonderful authentic flavor. The only critique I would have is that there could have been more chicken given the cost of the item and the amount of sauce. Will be ordering again, maybe it was just the day I ordered💖

Okay, if you want the best Indian food in Lawrence, this is the place. The menu has everything you could ever think of. Such variety. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I wish I had taken pictures, but by the time I thought about it, all my food was gone. After we ate, we went to the store. So many spices, foods, nicknacks and beautiful clothing. This is definitely a place that should be on your list to try! I will be back!

This is hands down the best Indian food in the region. The food never misses, the prices are very reasonable, I typically have leftovers, and the servers are very kind and patient. I haven’t eaten India Palace in years because it just does not compare. I’ve had saag, dahl, jalfrezi, vindaloo, korma, biryani, masala, pakoras, samosas, and more, with all the different meat varieties as well as vegetarian. I really can’t recommend them high enough, especially when you throw in the awesome grocery attached to the restaurant.

I had an incredible dining experience at Cosmos Indian Restaurant! The food was bursting with authentic flavors, and each dish was perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. The staff was warm and attentive, making sure everything was just right. Highly recommend for anyone craving delicious, authentic Indian cuisine!
