Best Indian food I've ever had. It's great to eat before a night out or in general because I always have leftovers. I've literally made the 45min drive just to eat here. Super nice staff too. Most of their business seems to be online so it's really peaceful if you eat in. I loved it.
Tried Maharaja out of curiosity. Had the curry chicken with rice, spice level 5. It was nuclear hot. Finished my meal and left. Had that curry chicken on my mind for days. I went again. And again. I'm hooked. Spice leve 3 is my sweet spot. The owner is very personable. The location is not that fancy but its good and enjoyable. I even enjoy the Indian movies and music videos they play - adds to the experience. I Highly Recommend Maharaja!!!
Returned and had chicken biryani and had paneer pakora. The biryani seasoning is interesting and tastes good. Original review: Wonderful, delicious Indian food, courteous and fairly prompt service. Had chicken korma, paneer pakora, papad, and raitha. I ordered very mild spice for the entree.
Our first time here, and it was memorable! We will be back again whenever we are in Oxford. The owner Madhu was gracious, welcoming and very helpful with food recommendations. The food was fresh, delicious and generous. We ordered the garlic naan, vegetable korma, lamb roganjosh, both were on point, however, the vegetable korma was the star of the show. Madhu checked on us several times to make sure we are enjoying our food, thank you for a great experience!
I have never had Indian food before in my life until last night. To say absolutely phenomenal would be a major understatement. Service was good. The food was outstanding. I have been missing out on so much in life by never having the enjoyment of Indian cuisine. On top of that they do a magnificent job at it. Give it a try I promise you you will not be disappointed.
We eat here regularly. I have eaten Indian food literally all over the world. This is a great place. Oxford is lucky to have it, and worth exploring! Sometimes there is a wait, but that is because they are making the food… Makes for something different, given the regular choices.
I have dined here a few times and each time has been exceptional. I highly recommend the tikka masala, “chicken 65” appetizer, and palak paneer! Also love the garlic naan and cheese naan. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.
