Such a wonderful experience! The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Every dish we ordered was delicious, offering a great variety of flavors from both northern and southern India. What stood out the most was the genuine hospitality—we truly felt cared for. Don’t miss out on their desserts; they’re the perfect way to end a fantastic meal. Definitely worth a visit!
I visited this spot with a vegetarian friend, so we focused solely on vegetarian options—and it did not disappoint! We started with momos, followed by makki ki roti with sarson da saag, a classic Punjabi dish that was incredibly flavorful. The staff recommended Amritsari chole kulche, which turned out to be an excellent choice. For dessert, we indulged in rabri jalebi, which was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. I never expected to find such authentic and delicious North Indian food here, but every dish hit the spot. The portions were generous, and the flavors were rich and satisfying. The restaurant wasn’t crowded, and the staff was exceptionally polite and helpful with recommendations. They even offer discounts for future visits when ordering online, which is a great perk. Highly recommend trying their North Indian specialties for a flavorful and satisfying meal!
OH MY GOODNESS! The new team that took over this place recently has completely transformed it from what it was when it first opened last year. I am so happy that we have good Indian food in Chan now. I have eaten at a lot of different Indian restaurants in many other states and this was legit good. Good work guys thank you for bringing un-apologetic Indian flavors to Minnesota. Biryani was great and the raita was the perfect balance.
Great place as we ordered special allergy vegetarian food (no onion and no garlic) for a Diwali party of 20+ for Nov 01, 2024 and very good service and food as well and definitely a place for having ur food including special needs. Pls get in touch with Kiran or Anu or Bhavin as they will be of help, above and beyond (even if u want items off the menu as they made by favorite dish very well - paneer pasanda).
PHENOMENAL! We popped in for an impromptu lunch this afternoon as a walk-in two top and were greeted kindly and promptly. Our server was very attentive despite having been sat with two other tables simultaneously. Our meal began with the chicken momo which had very obviously been folded in house. They were steamed to precision and accompanied by two lovely flavor-bomb ramekins of sauce. Round two consisted of vegetable biryani (veggies were super fresh, al dente) that implored our tastebuds with the subtle nuance of saffron, beef vindaloo stewed in a tangy braise with fork tender potatoes, and a sizzling skillet of chicken tikka bursting with spicy character and all the aromatics one could hope for. The garlic naan was ideal in both its chewiness and crispy goodness (so ideal, in fact that we took an order to go) as were the house sauces, think raita, mint and mango chutneys, etc. The requested levels of spice went up to “indian hot” which we most likely will test the waters of next time. “Hot” worked splendidly for the two of us as we sincerely enjoy spicy cuisine on a regular basis. All said and done, this is a hidden gem not to be missed. We will absolutely return sooner rather than later. Thank you, Thaliwala, for alighting our senses on a frigid Minnesota afternoon. The experience was much appreciated just as thoroughly as the leftovers will be later this evening ❤️
Wow! We just found our new favorite Indian resturant. The food was amazing and reminded us of our travels to India. The Lamb Makhani and Chicken Tikka were a great pairing and I don't think I'll ever eat store Naan again, the Naan was soooooo fresh!!!! Sorry we forgot to take a before picture......
This is a new MUST VISIT restaurant! Since I moved into the area I keep going there 3 times a week! The service is exceptional for takeout or dine in. Food is on point, best quality and delicious, authentic and made with love and care. The many is ideal for vegetarians and gluten free patrons. Can’t recommend this place enough. It is simply the best India food in Minnesota. I’ve been to many in the north and south of Minneapolis and St Paul, Thaliwala take #1 place!!! MVP
