My waitress Swedeth was the sweetest! All of the staff is polite, patient, & the food is phenomenal! If you love spicy food, this is THE place to go! Not everything is spicy, but if you can’t eat spicy food, they have an excellent variety of food choices as well. Everything was fresh, flavorful, & authentic! You get a lot of food for an amazing price. Jaiten, the owner was amazing & made sure he created a nice atmosphere for the restaurant! (In the picture below, I got the appetizer the Chicken Kapora & I got the Lamb Biryani & I specifically asked for maximum spice level on my food. I dined in, my food came out in great timing & this what I was able to bring home!) Please check them out you won’t be disappointed!

First time trying this restaurant and I was not disappointed. I had samosas as an appetizer and they were delicious. I'm used to having peas in samosa and these didn't have them, but it didn't really take anything away from them they came with 3 different sauces and all were great. Then I got lamb dalcha and roti. The rice that came with it was a long grain rice that was fluffy and not sticky at all. I asked for spicy, and though I prefer very hot, their idea of spicy was a little toned down for me. They assured me that next time they will bump up the spice, knowing my tolerance.

It was the best Indian food we had so far. Service and ambience is excellent. Food was delicious. Loved how they served in copper and brass plates and cups.

Had dinner here today... All dishes and drinks were delicious. Nice and cozy environment. Definitely will return in my next visit to Montgomery, AL.

Food was absolutely phenomenal! Best meal I’ve had in Alabama. Friendly staff, clean, great service and atmosphere. We drove an hour and a half and it was worth every second!

First time experiencing Matka and the ambiance, service, presentation, and food was A++. Not to mention the garlic cheese naan was plentiful and complimenting the Chicken Tikki Masala well. I will be returning for more!

MatkaBar was the star of my visit to Montgomery! I’ve never seen a nicer atmosphere for an Indian restaurant at this price point. The food was great and our server was very attentive and nice. Best roti I’ve had since eating my Nani’s YEARS ago! We’ll be back!
