Quirky, cozy restaurant focused on fresh flavors in a comfortable decor. The chairs invite a relaxing stay. The attention to preparation as well as flavor in the food is appreciated. Get the French fries! Good for picky eaters. And, they are accommodating for Gluten Free diets. The painkiller is a super yummy frozen beverage. Recommended!
Enjoyed Everything at the fullest. Must try Mango Lassi from the sweet treat section. Curry Fried Chicken great choice. And the grilled butter chicken Sando uff uff uff . Andrew and Brandi behind the bar were awesome and friendly. Special appreciation for the Lead Megan if I’m not wrong. Great leadership skills and very observative thanks her for the hospitality Great Success Electric Gravy. Will be back for sure . Gracias Aadios
My experience at Electric Gravy was just wonderful start to finish. As a hungry party of four, we ordered easily over half the menu, figuring surely we'd have leftovers. Nope. We ate nearly every bite of every dish - it was all SO GOOD. I'd recommend everything we had, but if I had to pick just a few items, I'd say the fried chicken, pakoras, and pork vindaloo are must-orders. We tried four of the cocktails, too, and really liked all of them. It was also a really pleasant dining experience from a service perspective. The staff could not have been nicer and more eager to please. We're already planning our second visit. So happy this place is open, and can't wait to get back. Thanks for a great night and meal, EG team!
My friend and I had dinner here on Friday evening. I was able to make a reservation a couple nights prior, so we were seated right away. Everything that we had was absolutely delicious- full of flavor and the spice level was just right. We were given complimentary pakora and let me tell you- I am NOT a fan of mint in my food, but I couldn’t get enough of the mint chutney that accompanied it. Our server was very sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and was able to recommend some gluten free items. I parked in the lot behind the building without paying and had no issues. We were there for several hours (stopping at the vintage bookstore across the street for some tea afterwards too). I definitely plan to return and look forward to seeing more menu items as they grow.
We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we ordered, especially the Kucumber salad. The three sauces were outstanding, and the curry queso chips were a perfect addition. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore a unique fusion-style Indian cuisine.
Excellent food and service. My wife has a severe gluten allergy, and the staff coordinated with the kitchen to assess options manage cross-contamination for Celiac’s. They were able to offer all of the mains and some side options - just nothing fried or with naan (and of course, shared kitchen with risk). Surprisingly, that is more than the menu marked GF, so I would recommend additional discussion before ordering with allergies because the GF markings seem to be general rather than controls. It was opening night and we had our toddler and baby along. The staff was very helpful and attentive throughout our meal. We shared the saag paneer and Karachi chicken, and they were both excellent. Spouse also had the GF kachumber salad. Our toddler and me shared the curry fried chicken, and that was good as well. We enjoyed the mezcal kabutar drink, too. Everything was very good, in my opinion. We will go again and certainly earmarked it as a great option to share with folks.
I love the creativity here, and I had to do a double-take on the prices because it’s far more reasonable for this level of fare than other trendy new Austin restaurants. The pork vindaloo was incredible (pretty serious kick, too). The tikka masala was superb, too. The naan is grilled on I believe a panini press, which makes for great texture and it is quite eye catching. Best samosas I’ve ever had. And the brown dipping sauce was 🔥🔥 I love how you can turn their cocktails into mocktails. To top it all off, nothing was greasy. No red oil flowing everywhere 🙌🏻👏
