We arrived here for dinner on the Christmas day. This rating is for the staff - who were visibly understaffed and doing their best to welcome the relentless guests with a smile. They were huffing and puffing all throughout our meal. Huge ups for the staff to keep the business open on a holiday. We got vegetable pakora, butter chicken, mango lassi and chicken biryani. The pakora was a little oily for our liking but was well seasoned. The butter chicken was decent with creamy gravy. The biryani was a little spicy for medium level and leaned more towards pulao. The chicken pieces in the biryani were chewy and overcooked. The food isn’t the best nor the most authentic but that’s a discussion for another day. If you come looking for Indian food in Hawaii, that’s on you. The food was decent enough with amazing staff and we were grateful for a meal on a holiday night.
We went here on the way back from Volcano national park back to Waikoloa. Quick and friendly service. Good Indian food. Medium spicy was not spicy enough for us. Their pickle is sweet.
Amazing place to eat, relax and feel at home. The food was incredible. The chicken was perfectly cooked. My waiter Pujan went above and beyond in making sure my every need was met. I highly recommend eating here and will definitely be returning for some more delicious Indian cuisine. Mahalo Kamana Kitchen!
Good portions, an appropriate balance of spice and flavors. In a place with lack of veg options this provides a refugee. A little greasy. Another positive is that it’s on DoorDash so you can avail of in-app credits.
Firstly, after missing our comfortable food for 5 days, we came across Kamana Kitchen serving Indian food in the big island. We ordered veg thali and non-veg thali. The portion size is impeccable and they have a great variety of dishes a part of the thali. For the appetizers, they served us veg samosa and pakora as part of veg thali and meat samosa and chicken pakora as part of the non-veg thali. Everything tasted amazing and seasoned to perfection. As part of the main course, we got a plate of 3 curries, aloo matter, palak panner and dal fry as part of veg thali and chicken tikka masala, mutton curry and dal fry as part of non/veg thali with 2 naans (which is 4 pieces) for each thali. Everything given in the main course was served hot and tasted great. Lastly, there was rice kheer as part of the dessert which was out of the world. Highly recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to eat Indian food at a very affordable price.
Amazing Indian food! We came here skeptical since this is Hawaii but it ended up being so good! Highly recommend their cheese and garlic naan and when you ask for spicy YOU GET SPICY in a good way!
This is a great place. I’m a very picky eater. I also came from a city and state where there were many people from India as well as having good friends from Calcutta. It’s hard to find a good Indian cuisine here. This place was great. The portion sizes are on point. They are considered small by American standards, but they are how they’re supposed be portioned. It is still very filling and I had to take the rest of my food to go. I ordered the chicken korma and garlic naan. If you like spicy food, just tell them you want it spicy. The spice level didn’t disappoint! The staff were friendly and charming, and very attentive. It was calm and relaxing. I do recommend this place and I will definitely be a regular. Bon appétit!
