I canβt rave enough about Saffron Grill! A hole in the wall, mom n pop shop, with the sweetest owners. As someone who loves Persian and Mediterranean cuisine, finding a spot that truly delivers authentic flavors is a gem. My husband, who is Persian, has been raving about the food here because it reminds him so much of his upbringing. The dishes are prepared with incredible attention to detail, and you can taste the cultural authenticity in every bite. From the perfectly spiced kebabs to the flavorful saffron rice, everything is delicious and brings a comforting touch of home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great place for a special meal. If youβre in Huntington Beach and craving genuine Persian/Mediterranean food, this is the place to go. Highly recommend! Our go to is the Tadig topped with Gheimeh for an appetizer. And the Chicken Koobideh entree.
We've been coming here for a while and I always forget to get pictures of the food because I start eating right away and forget about my phone since it's so delicious and freshly made π the owners and staff are all very nice and attentive makes you feel right at home. I only got to capture the hummus and salad. You need to try it, everything ok the menu is delicious.
This isn't your garden-variety "Mediterranean" or "Middle Eastern" restaurant. Sure, you can order your kabob or falafel, but this is really an authentic Persian restaurant. Now, Persian cuisine is not like Arab cuisine (unlike what unfortunately too many people in America seem to think, Persians aren't Arabs...) It has its distinctive flavors and uses spices that are often different than those used in other Middle Eastern cuisines. I'm definitely a fan, and I'm telling you that while there are hundreds of "generic" Middle Eastern restaurants in Orange Co., finding a Persian restaurant just isn't as easy. This is very much a "mom&pop" place, where the food is prepared with love and pride. And it won't disappoint you. In fact, it's quite spectacular. I suggest you try the Borani and the Tadig as appetizers. The former is mashed eggplants cooked with grilled onions, mint, and whey. Fantastic flavor! The latter is crispy rice from the bottom of the rice pot, plain or accompanied by a delicious chicken stew. As for entrees, you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. The service was extremely corteous and reasonably fast (it's not a fast food restaurant, so don't expect your order to be served after 3 minutes...) Prices are very reasonable. The "lunch specials" are probably the best deals. Highly recommended.
Excellent food quality and flavor. I love this place. Expect your food to take long because they are grilling it from scratch. The older gentleman is a sweetheart. This will be my go to place whenever I am in town.
The food is consistently delicious, service is friendly, and the restaurant is quaint and cozy the food takes a little longer because it is fresh, so just be Laurent, and know that when you get your plate, it will be mouthwatering delectable! Come on down and support your local small businesses!
Everything I ordered was made "In House" even the Pita bread so thin and light it was incredible. The Hummas side order *See Pict* was Naturally Light and not over burdened by too much of any seasoning. They use Quality Olive oils and you can taste the difference. The Basmati rice was Heaven, so light and airy it took me to the Himalayas where the finest basmati comes from. The Chicken Kabob was marinated to perfection prior to hot π₯ grilling. Oh my so delicious it took me back to my childhood when I used to go to Grandma's house for dinner. My family is of Sicilian and Cuban and Greek Blood. When I was young I had no idea what I ate was the best of the best and that's what Saffron Grill took me back to my childhood for some of the Best Foods from the Mediterranean I've had since I was 10 years old. If you don't try this glorious slice of Heaven from the Mediterranean your missing out "Big-Time"
Finally we have a good indian restaurant in HB. Food is amazing. Little pricey but worth it. Owners are super friendly.
