That Indian Place

Bomb chicken tikka masala & garlic naan. If you’re an eater like my husband you will need 2 orders, I was perfectly full with one! Delicious. We convinced our family that had never had Indian food to branch out and they LOVED it, saying they wanted to being the naan back on the plane home😂 Really nice family that runs this place with recipes from the owner’s grandfather. These recipes have definitely passed the test of time.

Tucked inside the Poi'pu shopping village is That (insert amazing) Indian place. We visited the restaurant based on a friend's recommendation and we were thankful. Not only is their story heartwarming, the food keeps up to the expectations as well. We ordered Kadhai Paneer, garlic dal and rice and they were just perfect. The owners came by to greet us and check in on us as well, which was such a sweet, personal touch. Definitely visiting them again while we spend some more time in Kauai!

Food was so amazing and incredibly tasty. It was so good we ordered extra after our meal for takeout. We had the Chana and butter paneer with onion salad and were very satisfied.

My first endeavor into Indian cuisine. I can not speak to whether this is authentic as I have no point of comparison; however, I have no doubt that this was some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life. To go from being hesitant to becoming a huge fan of this amazing cuisine is a testament to the care, attention, and love that went into it the preparation of our meal. Thank you “That Indian Place for a beautifully prepared meal.

Kauai, are you aware what a gem you have here? Back home in Austin, my wife and I eat a lot of Indian food. However this spot has the absolute best food we’ve had. Not fair! You have the Island, the ocean views and this spot! You must try this place if you love Indian food.

Firstly, I apologize that the image is of empty plates and dishes... We just could not stop eating in enough time to take a picture of this INCREDIBLE food. We ordered the butter chicken and the chili chicken with with medium spice and garlic naan. This was the most incredible Indian food my wife or I have ever had, and we've had our fair share of Indian cuisine through California and Nevada. We even frequent a local place in Las Vegas each week, and this just toppled that flavor and customer service. If you like Indian food, and want an incredibly cozy and home made meal with delicious food, this is the place for you. Whenever I'm back in Kauai I will be bringing everyone I know here. Amazing food experience. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious and they’re so nice. Got the veg biryani, palak paneer, Chana masala, naan, and one of the eggplant specials. Very satisfying.
