We have been to this place a number of times and every time we go there it reminds us of India Dhaba style in a open air setting. The dishes at this place bring familiarity from your mothers kitchen, its like home cooked food with less oil and NO preservatives. Everything is made fresh from scratch and in small quantity batches so its served fresh(made to order style type of food truck). Its a perfect place to have not only good food but also wonderful ambience. They also serve filter coffee to add to their collection. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to grab a quick bite or full meal. They also serve combos, should you ne hungry.

Mahalakshmi Foods has become our go-to place for authentic food from the southern region of India. The owners are usually present to talk to you and check if things are okay and the food is delicious. They’ve built a little nook that is covered and has games to play while you wait and convenient seating. The food is really a mother’s touch as it’s made with a lot of love! Must visit!

So we were just driving by and saw the food truck. Not knowing it was Indian food. It's family owned and right off the bat the lady and gentlemen were extremely helpful in explaining or recommending what we should try since we have only had Indian food only a couple times in our lives. It is all vegetarian but that was ok because even though leaving full we left feeling refreshed and we can tell we put good food into our bodies. Everything is made from scratch and fresh and the food definitely tastes as such. We tried the Karam abd Masala Dosa, Medusa Vada, Idli, Mango Lassi (drink) and their coffee. The vegetable soup that crs with the Dosa is full of flavor and packs a good punch. If you can handle Spicy this place is amazing and if you can't you just let them know and they are able to adjust the heat for you so you can enjoy their amazing food that's obviously made with love. Plenty of seating which was awesome and there's also a TV and a pool table for the kids to play. The more exposure they get the more they plan to expand to make it an even more family friendly environment. The price is on the low end for a good truck in my opinion. I also got full and couldnt finish all my food. We spent $37 after tax and thats because we got two app/side dishes. Would of been only $25 which is super cheap now adays. Highly recommend you give this place a try.

We decided to finally try this place after our friend kept saying that in her neighborhood everyone was raving about it! Honestly, they weren’t kidding at all the food is amazing. It’s a small food truck that just opened a few weeks ago, with a good variety of South Indian vegetarian options. We decided to split the breakfast special and it was totally worth it! A lot of food for two people we had leftovers to take back. My personal favorite was the puri and dosa. Sambar and filter coffee were also good. Definitely recommend checking them out! The owner is sweetest! So glad to have something so close by like this now. *They have outdoor seating

We regularly visit Mahalakshmi’s. Their food is very good. The quality is excellent and everything is made with real ingredients. Highly recommend their onion dosa, Karan dosa, idly , filter coffee and onion samosa. The owners are very passionate about providing food with great quality and ethical preparation. Food is msg free and no baking soda for idly n dosa.Will definitely visit again Ambiance is good too and is kid friendly

Delicious food and great service. So happy to find fresh, homemade, South Indian food so close to home! Will be back soon.

We ordered IDLY, DOSA, MIRCHI BAJJI from this food court. It is the best idly that we ever had in austin. Do try their other breakfast dishes as well they were all taste like home made. I Highly recommend this place.
