Unassuming little hole in the wall that can barely seat 8 but serves incredible food. I got the pesarattu upma and was delighted by the texture and the flavors. The upma was just right and the sambar and chutney were on point. The poori was a bit on the dry side but the chole more than made up for it. Unfortunately chai is still served with no sugar, but it made for a good ending. This will be on my favorites list!
The interior is obviously that of a place that had been takeout only for some time. But what does it matter when the food is tasty and fast. I had palak paneer dosa (1/4 serving pictured) and it was crispy and not too heavy. I also tried the nannari sherbet but it was neon orange and its excess sweetness covered any unique taste. Service is good, fast, attentive to the level of water in my cup, and friendly to my indecisive fellow diner, to whom they even offered some small samples.
I dined here a couple of times during my recent business trip to the bay area. When you walk in this place feels small almost like a dump. It has just three tables with some of the dining area also used for storage, questioning your choice to dine in. But I soon realized how wrong I was when I tasted the food. Food here is nothing less compared a good south Indian restaurant back in India. Non stop to-go orders are what keeps the place super busy. I tried their masala dosa, idly and vada served with three chutneys and sambar. Sambar is a bit spicy but the food overall felt fresh and tasty. Service is also good and folks who work here are very courteous and accommodating.
Fantastic South Indian food! Just keep in mind they only do takeout, no dine in, so this review is based on the food alone. There's so much good food worth trying here. Punugulu was decent but would have been better served with chutney. The poori and potato masala was amazing - the pooris (2) are huge and not too oily, and there's an ample quantity of the potato masala curry. The paratha (4) that comes with the veg kurma and dal curries was the highlight though and I will certainly be trying that again! One of the few times the quantity matches the quality of food. Highly recommend!
We had thali and it’s very good and gongura rice is ok ok but I enjoyed thali very much. Dhal, sambar , rasam all super. rahul service is so good and enjoyed
actually i didn't know about India food, but some of my south India friend had been bring me to try Dosa. I really liked Dosa、and recommend for my husband trying India food 。we order Dosa.Thali, and fry onion。wow the Thali surprised me,it was so so so big.very big box.may can for four people..and a lot sauce soup .my husband say to spicy 🌶the spicy for me i am okay. The price really good 👍
I was in Cali for the weekend, and I can honestly say this is the best thali I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve been living in Texas for a while now, and although there are a lot of Indian restaurants here, people often say it's the best place for Indian food—except for thali. I can’t stress this enough: you should definitely try their South Indian thali. Great staff, great service, and homely vibes!
