Excellent food. The mulligatawney soup is well worth it.
I have been coming here for years. The owners always ask me how my children are. They have seen my children come in as infants to grown teenagers now. I truly miss the buffet nights. I have tried other Indian cuisines (including Disney’s Epcot) and nothing compares in my opinion. This is the best Indian cuisine. We even travel a good 40 mins each way just to enjoy food from red hook’s curry house. The owner and his wife have always been pleasant. The kitchen is SUPER clean! Thank you Curry house for years & years of delicious food. Keep it coming !
Don't judge from the outside! Authentic, homey, byob buffet. Loved the clearly defined vegan, vegetarian & meat options. The copper fired pots add to the warm aesthetic & the waiting staff were VERY watchful, helpful & HONEST! My husband left his phone on the table as we were leaving & a young man who was waiting tables immediately noticed & brought it to him. Great little place!
Chicken Tikka is amazing, garlic Naan and mango Lassi amazing as well!! Highly recommend.
Always excellent! Simply the best indian food around!
I lived in Jackson Heights, Queens for years which is known as 'the' place to go for Indian food in NYC. I knew some Manhattan residents who would come to this Queens neighborhood specifically for the authentic Indian food. I relocated to this area years ago, and have been coming to Red Hook Curry House for as long as I can remember. I have never, ever, had a bad meal here. In fact, I would choose to eat here over any Jackson Heights restaurant that I've eaten at. The food is that good. Several years ago I ate here with a student visiting from New Delhi. He said it was the best Indian food he had eaten while in America. The decor hasn't changed, and can use some updating. The baskets they served the Naan in were old and looked like it was time for them to be replaced. But the food is still top notch. Take out is always great, but the food is even better when you dine in, and have it brought to your table hot from the kitchen. Go for the food as opposed to anything else and you shouldn't be disappointed if you like Indian food.
Excellent. Fresh, well served. We go there often and it is consistent and delicious. The lamb korma, Tikka masala, shrimp biryani, salmon tandoori, are all so good. And if you can't finish, they give you rice in the take away box so that you have some for your leftovers.
