If you are hungry and want to get the dishes out in no time like magic on your plate, this is the restaurant to visit to get the quick service as well as to get the authentic food from India. They have the best combination for vegetarian options with a variety of bread options as well. Try the kulfi in the end to come fully satisfied. Owner is a nice person and servicing is good here. Price point is excellent and you will really surprised to see when other restaurants are increasing thier price like anything.
A must visit for authentic, delicious and simple Punjabi food in the area.
Hold your horses people. This is a Desi Dhaba in Jersey. Owned and run by Punjabis ( read the name?). Guess what - you get Delish Punjabi food !! Lower your expectations on everything else and don’t fret. This place is NOT for everyone and for all occasions. It’s a budget joint offering FRESH food ( have you peeked into the size of kitchen?). So compromise on the plastic “silverware”, paper “China” and erratic customer service. The owners are prepping, cooking, taking orders, serving and cleaning. And trying to do PR! My fav- Probably the best naans / tandoori breads ( ask for less butter/ no butter) in Jersey - NY area on over 2 decades. All the kulchas and breads were light, crisp on outside and soft on the inside. Not heavy piles of dough. Curries are decent, rustic and tasty. Nothing mind blowing. Place offers complete VALUE for money. Do not expect to be yes’d to death nor is this a center of fine cuisine. Do your desi shopping , grab a bite or order take out! Only downside- they don’t offer water. It’s sold by the bottle. ( seen this at many small inexpensive joints lately on ‘24-‘25 ). Suggestion - take your own bottle if you care to save a buck. If you don’t care if the quality of napkins and can eat tikka - naan off a paper plate, you will enjoy thoroughly.
I recently visited Sher-E-Punjab in Edison and tried their butter chicken and garlic naan. The meal was visually appealing and delicious. The butter chicken, shown in the image, is rich and creamy with a vibrant orange color, indicating a well-made sauce. The chicken pieces were incredibly flavorful. The garlic naan, also visible in the images, looks fresh and perfectly cooked with a nice char and garnished with fresh herbs, making it an excellent companion to the butter chicken. The sides included raita, which is creamy with boondi, and spiced onions that added a nice touch to the meal. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, adding to the positive experience. I also ordered a sweet lassi, which was a bit diluted and overly sweet for my taste, but it didn’t detract from the overall meal. I took home some dal makhani, and it was fantastic as well. Overall, it was the best butter chicken I've had in New Jersey. Highly recommend this place!
Stopped by as a late night eat. I got the Goat Chettinadu (spicy) with Garlic Naan and Jeer rice with a Mango Lassi. The food came out quickly and the service was great. Food was delicious and I have enough leftovers for a while. I definitely will plan on coming back with friends. The portions are built for sharing. My nut allergy was accommodated as well.
The food never disappoints. They have consistently maintained really good quality. It almost feels like home food rather than typical restaurant style food. The service is very efficient. I had a large order today and waited for no more than 20 minutes. Do try their mango and malai kulfis. They are excellent! You don't really go there for the ambience. I highly recommend take out.
Dhaba style Punjabi food… their Indian kulfi is so good as well.
