We found this place as we were visiting big island for day. We ordered samosas, idli Vada combo, mysore masala dosa and filter coffee. The food arrived pretty quickly and everything was fresh and delicious. Loved the piping hot ghee coated idlis and crispy golden vada, crunchy samosas that reminded me of home. Mysore masala dosa was just perfect. Little low on salt in chutneys. Otherwise everything was impeccable. Kudos to the owner who has made an effort to promote Indian food on such a remote island.
It’s a food court, but a vegetarian South Indian place that’s very good in Big Island. Their biryani was very tasty and dosas👌🏼! Looks like some menu items gets sold out fast…it’s been 3 days here and we have come 3 times already 😀 Clean restrooms right next to the food court.
We got mysore masala Dosa and Sambar Idly. We were legit surprised by the spice-level of mysore masala on the higher side (we prefer that way). The tomato-garlic chutney was spicy too. Idly, sambar and chutney felt fresh. Dosa was crispy enough without being too crispy and thin. Sambar was mildly north indian style though, but still pretty good. Highly recommend for your dose of Indian (South) on the Hawaii island.
A small place in a food court and not the place to come for ambience. We were traveling for Spring Break and as vegetarians this was worth the drive for us. The food was well prepared and tasted great. We ate the dosas right there to preserve the crispness instead of taking it our hotel room. The chutneys were delicious to go along. Everyone in our large group of travelers ranging from 5years to 70 years was pleased with the food and went back for seconds
It’s just an oasis for Indian flavors in a place where finding Indian food may be difficult. Plus it’s near Kona downtown and so easy to reach if you are staying near. The food is tasty and the service is good with some polite conversations. It’s inside the food court so do not expect a restaurant style sitting but you will surely go out satisfied.
Best Dosa Ever!!! Felt Like Home The owner was incredibly accommodating; we called just before closing, and he kindly agreed to wait for us!⭐️⭐️ We tried the Podi Dosa, Schezwan Dosa, Kuzhi Paniyaram (Guntha Ponganalu), and Buttermilk. Each dish was perfectly cooked with the right amount of spices, making every bite delightful.
We are visiting from “the mainland” and had dinner at Swami’s Dosa on a Tuesday night. The food was excellent and the service was very prompt and kind. The portions were VERY generous. The food court was quiet with several families and plenty of space for kids to move about. It was a lovely evening with a wonderful meal.
