Generally, I make my own Indian food, even blending my own spices. I've gotten so good at it, I generally do not pay for it in a restaurant. Amol is the ONLY exception to my rule. I cannot replicate the level of quality, flavors or textures found at Amol. They are next level amazing.
We have dined in at Amol and also had carry out/delivery several times. It is the closest Indian restaurant that does a good job to keep the dishes more authentic and tasty. The food is fresh and can be adjusted according to your spice level. Some of the dishes we really recommend for vegetarians are saag paneer or mushroom , paneer makhani, mushroom matar, and the dal makhani. The goat curry is delicious if you’re a meat lover. Chicken chilie is a delicious dish also. Try one of these with naan, paratha or roti. They have the typical mango lassi but also one I really like is the rose lassi. The servers have always been courteous and friendly. I highly recommend eating here! You will be a repeat customer I am certain!
Delicious. Our server told me none of their curries have wheat flour, so gluten free folks should have a ton of options here. They have a 1 to 10 spice scale, but their base spice level is higher than I have experienced at other Indian restaurants like Ambar or Deep. A 5 had a person who has a 7 at Ambar in tears... pretty sure they were happy tears though. The dining area is small and the tables get cluttered quickly. I wouldn't come here with a party of more than 4. Sound level was good, but we were the only diners. Service was super attentive and took great care of us. They have M and W bathrooms.
I’d recommend this restaurant for anyone who’s craving Indian food in Newport, KY. I went there after me and my mom visited the aquarium and we both liked the food. Spice levels go up to 10, and I like things on the spicy side, so I ordered spice level 8, while my mom doesn’t really like spicy food, so she ordered spice level 1.
I ordered at this restaurant online, the food was so yummy and full of flavor. I love 🌶️ food I did a level 5 which was too hot, I still loved it. I had goat curry and it does come with fluffy rice, I made a mistake of ordering another rice side and naan; it’s enough for two people. The naan was big. This has to be my 2nd favorite Indian restaurant across the country. I’m a flight attendant and I eat a lot of Indian food. It could have been my no1 if I lived there. Can’t wait to actually go visit the restaurant and try other things on the menu!
The lamb biryani is incredible. The tikka masala was delicious (we do wish the chicken was in chunks as opposed to shredded but it tasted so good for us to actually care). Chicken pakora (huge pieces of chicken) and garlic naan was also amazing!
Great Indian food, the exterior is no longer blue, it's now red. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the shrimp Vindaloo, naan and vegetarian samosas, they were all delicious, spicy but they'll accommodate to your taste. They'll ask you how spicy you want an entree on a scale from 1-10. Will come back again, the inside is small and a large group or party may be difficult to host here, but the server and cook were very nice and hospitable.
