Ordered takeout from here. I got the garlic naan and the lamb biryani. I have found my new favorite spot after my other favorite Indian food restaurants I used to go to closed. The lamb biryani was perfect. The lamb pieces were tender and delicious. The rice was seasoned and flavored with so many aromatics. It was easy to order pick up over the phone and the food was ready, hot, and fresh exactly when they said it would be ready for pickup. The people at the front and on the phone were friendly. I would definitely come here again to try other things! Thank you! Delicious food!!
Nice and simple Indian spot with tasty food and cozy seating. Service is beyond welcoming. We got tandoori fish, but it was so thing, and the restaurant just made us one more portion, without even asking. It was so nice and unexpected. But great!
Fantastic dinner dine in experience with very friendly helpful and professional staff. Manager happily accommodated a large party at last minute notice and gave great suggestions and service for a party of our size. Excellent side dishes and tender and flavorful lamb lollipops and curry. Thank you for hosting our family!
I love the indian food here and the owner is always friendly and flexible about modifying orders, adding a side, you name it. There's outdoor seating on the side but both seating areas are small so it's never too crowded. Highly recommend!
This is such a hidden gem. Its unassuming sure but its the best Indian cuisine you are likely to find. Do not miss the sea bass or the lamb chops. While far from traditional Indian cuisine they will both shake you to your culinary core. This family has been in Venice for decades and if you know you know. Now lets talk about the wine. Yes the wine! The wine list and the wines by the glass are exceptional and so unbelievably priced. The owner, Atul, and his manager JC are both incredibly versed and feel wine should draw you into a restaurant and complement the food. It should be there to line the pockets of the owner. Trust me here. Yes it seems like an odd pairing on the surface but this restaurant has a hard core, dedicated wine scene going on on. Love this restaurant and the family that keeps it going.
This was my first visit, but definitely not my last. Had the lamb entree, very tender and well prepared. Exquisite meal, very friendly and attentive service, I felt welcome and taken care of. There seemed to be many patrons there, which speaks for itself. Big Thank You.
Friends took me to Akbar recently to celebrate my retirement. As they knew I loved good Indian food, they made just the right choice. I loved it! There were six of us and the host offered to plan the menu for us, an invitation which we accepted. It went from glory to glory! Pappadum and chutneys, warm naan, and samosas were followed by tandoori lamb and several curries. Every one of us was delighted with every single dish! How often does that happen?! If you really love Indian cuisine, go to Akbar.
