Alachi Masala

We are visiting from Florida and were out walking and happened to find this hidden gem. It was amazing! The owner came out and visited with us. My daughters loved their dishes and said it was the best meal we’ve had in NYC so far!

Some of the best Indian food in the city. I used to live nearby and it’s so good I moved out of the neighborhood and still come back for it. They have my favorite vegetable samosa anywhere hands down. Very nice atmosphere, cute neighborhood spot, great vegan options that are clearly labeled, 10/10 experience

Randomly found this place whilst visiting NYC with my friends. Lovely environment, staff were so friendly and kind, food was absolutely delicious and one of the only few halal places down that street! We had a great time!

Delicious Indian food with generous portions and great flavors! There is a nice variety of dishes to choose from. The mango juice is also the best.

I had the pleasure of dining at Alachi Masala, where I sampled three exquisite dishes that left an indelible impression. On the vegetarian side, the dish I tried was a burst of flavors, showcasing the chef's expertise in creating a satisfying and savory option. However, what truly elevated this dining experience was the exceptional service. The staff, under the owner's attentive guidance, treated me with warmth and ensured that every aspect of my visit was impeccable. Alachi Masala is undeniably a haven for authentic Indian cuisine, offering a delightful gastronomic journey accompanied by impeccable service that I won't soon forget.

This is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. It is homey and small, but the staff are so, so, so very kind and just want to help you and make sure you're enjoying your meal. The menu is vast but at the same time, all the food is very, very good. The decor is lovely, the music is soft, the lighting well done. I have only ever enjoyed this place. I used to come here three times a month or more, but since I have left the city (and the state) it is a real treat to return to this restaurant. I usually eat dinner there and then get some to take home. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place, so I'll just stop now.

Lovely people and delicious, dependable food. Great for eating in or delivery. Outside dining available, too. Tonight, I started with vegetable samosas. Delicious!! So light and fluffy the crust, so perfectly spiced the classic filling. Mango Lassi is wonderful with a sweet touch of whipped cream. I’m also going to have my favorite— saag (spinach) paneer and garlic naan. The owner is here — so welcoming and very grateful for his customers during these times that are so challenging for restaurants and retailers. This is a very sweet, homey place. 8/5/23 Back again!
