If you’re in search of a brunch, breakfast, lunch & dinner experience that offers exquisite flavors, impeccable service, and a warm ambiance, AL-Watan restaurant is the perfect choice. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with genuine smiles and promptly seated, even during a busy evening. The menu features a delightful mix of creative dishes and timeless classics, all crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
I don't eat Indian food often, but this place was exceptional. Great service, good prompt service and delicious food. I ordered the lunch special and my wife got chicken tikki. Alot of food for a good price. Parking sucks but otherwise I highly recommend this place. Oh I forgot to mention the yummy naan.
I really had a great time in LA with my family to make things better we found this gem. Loved the food here. The owners were super kind and made sure we are comfortable. Thank you for your service and hopefully next time we plan the trip to CA we will inshallah visit here.
I’ve been coming here for the last 18 years and the food quality is always consistent and service equally above par. The naan here is probably the best in the country and I always finish my meals with a cup of chai and a well done sesame naan! Their tandoor selection as well as the Sunday chicken biryani are some of my favorite things to look forward to every weekend.
The only Pakistani restaurant my Pakistani mother and father approve of in southern California! And I agree with them! The service is amazing and quick. The food is absolutely incredible and authentic. A wonderful selection of dishes. The naan is always fresh and there’s a lot of varieties to pick from. By far my favorite Pakistani restaurant in SoCal!
I’ve been eating at Al-Watan at least since 1990/91 (they opened in 1987) after a Pakistani colleague at work mentioned them. It was one of those “Love at First Bite!” kinds of places. This is real, authentic, delicious and amazing Pakistani food but luckily, they’re open to all. The owners are warm and friendly. I got to see the restaurant grow from a small simple room (like eating at your grand-aunt’s home, I used to say) to a larger room with a written menu written on the wall and finally to its current form, taking up the entire small block with two dining rooms + a banquet room. My top recommendation, other than the best Tandoori chicken in LA, is the splendid Beef Nehari, filled with tender shredded beef and redolent with warm spices and fresh ginger. Also, if you go on Fridays, don’t miss the incredible Lamb Pulao. If it weren’t a small trek for me to get there, I’d eat there weekly.
Owner Waheed is incredibly customer-friendly, providing kind and attentive service. To our pleasant surprise, he personally served us chicken tandoori. We thoroughly enjoyed the pulao, tandoori chicken, and mango lassi!👍👍
