We have visited Bombay several times - lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch. Food is exceptional. And service is just as awesome; Divya is attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant as can be. Go now – you will not be disappointed!!!
My first time eating Indian food did not disappoint. I had Chicken Korma with rice and a side of garlic Naan bread. I asked for my entree to be mild, I really don't do spicy food. This dish was incredibly delicious. You could taste every spice used, each bite tasted different in a good way. It was a little spicy but oh so good
Probably one of the best Indian restaurants that I have tried, and that includes places that I went to in India! We tried several curries and appetizers and they were all outstanding. It's clearly a small family run place, so the service is on the slow side, but it's because everything is cooked fresh! Will definitely visit again when we are in Pittsburgh next time.
I just happen to stumble on this Indian restraunt out of the blue. I am glad. Service is exceptional. The restraunt is super clean and comfy. Food was sumptuous, mouth watering and stunningly pleasing. Paneer Kurkurae was perfect. I had never enjoyed paneer as much as I did in this restraunt. Methi Mushroom Paneer with a spice level of 8 was yet another perfection. The spice level was balanced and the taste was phenomenal. And the Rice was also perfectly cooked. Would highly recommend and visit again!
This is a fantastic restaurant!!! The food was phenomenal and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Great vegan options to swap tofu and coconut creme in the meals.
Was in Pittsburgh for conference and had a craving for Indian food, so we googled and found Bombay to Burgh. It is an interesting neighborhood of suburban Pittsburgh with difficult parking is street. Simple no fills outside facade of restaurant. Don't let the simpleness fool you as this powerhouse restaurant is packed with indian flavor and innovation. Owner and Chef Gaurav Navin is moderning indian cusinie through his vast experiences to enlighten the masses in the USA. Our meal: Appetizers: Paneer Kurkure: 6/5 - you will look at paneer pakora in a totally new way. Freshly made inhouse paneer in seasoned besan batter with corn meal crust. B2B Chicken - 4/5 - great curry flavored crust. Chicken pieces need more consistency in size. Main meal: Palak Paneer: 4.5/5 - home-made palak with chucky tomatoes, onions, garlic, and ginger. Great paneer. Kadhai Lamb - 5/5 - Lamb is fresh and soft, and the gravy is seasoned to prefection. Lamb Biryani - 4.5/5 - Rice is cooked to be prefection and seasoned well. Lamb was tendered. Just wanted more pieces. Malabar Laccha Paratha - amazing tasted flakey roti with great taste. Dessert: Qubani Ka Meetha - one of the top five desserts of my life I have tasted that improves with every bite. Apricots, ice cream, and nuts combo are amazing. Great experience and conversation with Chef Gaurav about his food techniques and his willings to take constructive feedback was great to see. Thank you for making fresh Indian chai for mom late at night. She loved it. I will drive quarterly to Pittsburgh to have meal at Bombay to Burgh as they plan on doing seasonal inspired menu offerings. Can't wait to see what Chef Gaurav has in store Q1 2025.
TL:DR - Get food here, it will be worth your money. Went here for lunch on a weekday and was unsure with the empty dining room, but I trusted the reviews that had been left on this place. And I am so happy I did. Everything we had was phenomenal and the waitress was extremely kind to us the whole time. To start of for appetizers we had the Paneer Kurkure (8.5/10) and B2B Chicken (9.3/10) which our waitress had suggested and both of them were seasoned so well I could eat them all day and they were served with a savory sauce that complimented the dish very well. For our entree we had the Kadhai Lamb (8.3/10) paired with Paratha (9.7/10) and the Chicken Dum Biryani (8/10). The highlight of the meal for me though was surprisingly the drinks. The Mango Lassi (10/10) and Almond Milk (10/10) genuinely felt like perfect drinks and the only thing I could complain about is not having enough of either. Go here to enjoy some really good modern Indian food at a reasonable price with good proportions.
