We have now gotten dinner from here multiple times over the years and it never disappoints!! Recently we went to go dine in and sat outside for dinner and the view was gorgeous; wonderful outdoor seating and it seemed like the inside seating had a good atmosphere as well. Highly recommend the Samosa Chaat, by far my favorite and everyone else at dinner loved it too. The Aloo Gobi Masala was tasty as well but personally could’ve had a bit more spice and flavor. Overall a great place to grab dinner, and if you can, I’d recommend going there to sit outside! Will definitely be going back sometime.
Excellent food and staff and what a view! We were greeted by the staff and given a nice chance to pick a seat versus being told where to sit which was great when the view is a big part of the experience. We had several questions on the menu which were quickly answered and very politely. We started off with the Bhel Puri which was light and flavorful and a great appetizer. We ordered the Vegetable Korma, Samsavera Kofta and a side of garlic naan. The food came out quickly from the kitchen and perfect the first time. The korma was very good but my preference would have been for it to be a little creamier and with fresh local veggies if possible. The real 5 stars come from the kofta and the naan. The potatoes in the kofta were off the chart and the overall dish amazing. The naan was cooked just right and so buttery with a hint of garlic - delicious. Definitely a place to stop at and we look forward to coming back soon!
A not so hidden gem just before the bridge to OBX. Waterfront dining in a casual atmosphere. Authentic Indian dishes. Was it the best I’ve ever had? No. But it was delicious, and prepared well. Photos are of Chicken Mung Tandoori, and garlic shrimp. Just a couple miles from Duck and about 9 miles from Kill Devil Hills. I wish they would serve non-alcoholic beverages in something other than plastic cups. Everything else is so nicely plated, I’m not sure why water and sodas can’t be served in glasses. Service is slow because they don’t hire enough servers. The restaurant is sometimes busy, and other days not as much. Service isn’t terrible by any means, but it would be nice to get checked on and get beverages refilled throughout the meal. #gogetyousome
This was an unexpected find in this part of North Carolina. It was really good food and the samosas were fantastic. The Butter Chicken was a little sweet for me, but it was really nice and the staff were so friendly. I had Butter Chicken and my friend had the Korma, The naan was good as well. The staff was very nice and helpful. Overall it was a great experience.
Absolutely incredible food. We had the Salmon Feta Kale dish and the chicken, both were fantastic! Also got a shrimp appetizer which was very good as well. Good service, we sat outside and it was great. They had live music, and no wait at all. Would definitely come back. A little pricey but worth it!
We enjoy eating Indian food back home and stopped here today on our way back from vacation. We have stopped here in years past and it was always great. This time we brought the rest of our family who also enjoyed the good food. We all agreed, there is a nice variety on the menu. The food was wonderful with great flavor. We enjoyed our Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer, Riata, and Papadum. Love the atmosphere on the water. We had attentive service and food came out timely. We would definitely go back again. Highly recommend!
Update = 8/21/2020 We were having a craving for some Indian food and saw Madala Bay was open. We decided to eat at the resturant, outside waterfront. We were the only ones there at that time. It was perfect nice evening, outside with a great view. This is the first time we have eaten at a restaurant since Covid started. I think if the place was packed I might not have eaten in. Service was great, the food is still delicious. We had a party of 4. We had the garlic and plain Naan. Vegetable samosas, samosa chat, sabzi pakora, butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala, panels saag, daul tanka, lamb curry, and Chana masala. Everything was at a heat level of medium and very delicious. \Update Some of the best Indian food I have had in a long time. The curried lamb was spectacular. We started out with Samosa's and Sabzi Pakora. Wow very delicious. Lentil soup was amazing. Main course wss butter chicken, daul, variety naan basket and lamb curry. Amazing food, amazing views and great service. Taj beer was delicious as always. I will definitely return when back in the outerbanks.
